How to join the EGI ESR VO

Certificate

To join the ESR VO you will need a personal certificate by your local certificate authority that is recognized by the EGI Grid. A map with information about the regional CA's can be found on the EUGridPMA portal. If your corresponding CA does not issue the certificates to a browser keystore, you need to import it first, before you can register for a VO.

Registration

To register, use your EGI recognized certificate to authorize yourself on the following page. https://voms.grid.sara.nl:8443/voms/esr/ After submitting the form on this page, the VO manager will get informed about your request and will contact you thereafter.

Grid access

It is then necessary to either

• request an account on some EGI User Interface (this can usually be done by your EGI Federation, see the map on bottom of http://cic.gridops.org/index.php?section=roc&page=gettingstarted)
• install one of the two available versions of the UI: a full rpm install needing root privileges or user installable tarball (download from: http://glite.web.cern.ch/glite/packages/R3.1/deployment/glite-UI/glite-U..., rpm installation detailshttps://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/LCG/GenericInstallGuide310, tarball installation details: https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/LCG/UiTarInstall).
• as an alternative, you can register to one of the GENIUS (https://genius.ct.infn.it) or P-GRADE (http://portal.p-grade.hu) web portals.
